On March 1-3, the teachers of the Narva Paju School visited Copenhagen (Denmark) at the invitation of Alison Smith (Alla Chekanova), a well-known pianist of the Royal Theater of Denmark. Alla Chekanova, a graduate of our school, has been successfully performing with the Danish Royal Orchestra for several years now. This year, her talent was awarded the Dannebrog Order (Dannebrogordenen) for her contribution to the development of musical culture. Alla achieved this high award with extraordinary diligence and perseverance. Alla is a talented musician, a very open, friendly person. All three days she took care of and opened for us the wonderful world of music. On March 1, we looked into the mysterious and mysterious world behind the scenes of the Royal Theatre. It should be said that the building itself delighted us. This is a unique historical place that recreates the atmosphere of the 18th century. The Royal Opera and Ballet Theater is the country's main national stage. The activity of the Royal Theater is characterized by academicism, fidelity to classical theatrical traditions. But a tribute to the time is also being paid - there is a search for new stage forms. We were lucky enough to attend the dress rehearsal (the premiere took place on March 3, 2023) Giant Steps - an evening of ballets by Jerome Robbins: charming Fancy Free and Glass Pieces. In the evening we went to the Copenhagen Opera House, the so-called theater on the water. This modern building has 16 floors, a total area of about 40 thousand square meters, and behind its modern glass facade hides luxurious halls decorated with gold leaf, calcite and Sicilian marble. Chic and elegance can be traced in every detail - the furniture is made of valuable wood, the floor in the main hall is lined with natural oak, fantastic chandeliers amaze with their beauty. The repertoire includes mainly classical pieces, but in an unusual modern arrangement. This spring in Copenhagen, the audience was presented with a new production of the famous ballet by P.I. Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" by the director of the Royal Danish Opera Nikolai Hubbe and director Celia Shandorff. It is difficult to describe the delight and admiration that we experienced while watching the extraordinary choreography and listening to the immortal music of P.I. Tchaikovsky. 2nd of March. In the first half of the day we made a trip to the places of Andersen's fairy-tale heroes. In Copenhagen, traces of the heroes of Anderson's fairy tales are everywhere. Here is the palace ensemble Amalienborg - the official residence of the Danish monarchs ("Princess and the Pea"). Another famous place in the Danish capital is the New Royal Square, one of the largest in Copenhagen. It has thirteen streets. There are many monuments of architecture, culture and art. Once upon a time, the famous naked king walked through this square! Newhavn (New Harbor) is a kilometer-long metropolitan canal, equipped in the 17th century. This is where the Steadfast Tin Soldier comes in. At houses No. 20 and 67 along the embankment of the Nyhavn canal, one can read on memorial plaques that Andersen himself lived and worked here in different years. March 3 It is simply impossible to visit the Danish capital and not see the famous Little Mermaid! It was to her that we went that day. The sculpture was installed in 1913 with the sponsorship of the famous Carlsberg brewery. Concluding the story about my stay in Copenhagen, I would like to exclaim after Andersen: Yes, the miracle of our life and eternity is stronger; It is impossible to comprehend it, but a miracle, a miracle is in it! ..
